This study will put together for the first time a cross-references, melodic index with all known concordances to the madrigals of Philippe de Monte. This thematic catalogue will he of primary importance in bringing these works before scholars, performers, and the music consumers. Catalogue will provide a cross-reference of melodic formulae, establish the ground work for text comparison, and be the beginning of an effort to show perspective in the development and understanding of the madrigal.
