To examine traditional Japanese values and their effect on the three generations of Japanese in America. Concepts to be considered are: Bushido ethics; groupism; personal sacrifices; loyalty; and the denigration of the 'self' over and against the community. Also to be studied is the effect the American traditions make upon the reinforcement and transformation of the Japanese values.
