FAIN: FB-12874-76

August J. Nigro
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (Kutztown, PA 19530-9335)

To examine in American literature and culture the manifestation of the mythopoeic of separation and reparation. Study will proceed in three stages: 1) to test the viability of the pattern in myth and mythography 2) to study its particular manifestation in American culture and ideology, and 3) to interpret and evaluate its evocation in significant and representative American literature. Seminar study will make a significant contribution to a newly-developed program in American Studies at Kutztown State College and also offer the academic community a re-interpretation of the dialectic in American literature.
