FAIN: FB-12916-76

Shasta College (Redding, CA 96003-7692)

To prepare folklore materials for inclusion in a composition course taught by P.I. Unit would be designed to introduce students to the reading and collection of folklore and, to make them conscious of another way to look at their own experiences. Study will involve several months of extensive and comprehensive reading and compiling examples for possible inclusion in the course. Second part of study would involve assembling folklore materials that would be particularly readable and suggestive for the novice. Exercises would be designed to help students begin to search for their own sources. Folklore reminds us of our heritage and our humanity and is an invaluable addition to any course.
