To study the presentations of society and social evolution in contemporary American science fiction, and the impact of anthropological theories on the writing of science fiction. The analysis will be based on a critical examination of some of the major science fiction works by American writers incorporating themes or parallel treatment of ideas in the genre of popular literature and anthropology.
