The Problem of "Undeserved" Suffering

To explore the ways in which humankind understands suffering, and in particular, undeserved suffering. In the contexts of myth, traditional religion, and modern man's experiences with his own inhumanity. PI will consider the differences between suffering which is experienced as deserved and suffering which is experienced as undeserved, the conceptualizations of these differences, and whether these conceptualizations effect the experience of suffering.
