FAIN: FB-13078-77

Michael Joseph Curley
University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA 98416-5000)

To study the work of Edward Averbach and Ernst Curtius on the transformation of the moral-didactic mode of ancient historiography by the apocalyptic-dialectic framework of early Christian historical thinking, and the influence this transformation had on the conventional structures of literature broadly defined. PI also intends to complete a translation of the Latin Physiologus one of the most important representatives of the genre or moralized "natural philosophy."
