To complete a manuscript which aims to explain Descartes' and Leibniz's scientific achievements and theorizing in the areas of mathematics, physics, optics, and cosmology and to interpret their philosophy in light of those achievements and theories. PI also plans to study the writings of Polanyi so as to achieve a coherent position on the relation between science and the arts, both literary and visual.
