To explore, through reading and oral histories, the effects of industrial work upon the family life of Jewish women who emigrated from Eastern Europe to New York between 1880 and 1914. Study will examine the roles of immigrant women in the American labor force; how these roles differed from the European models and thus affected relations within the family.
