A book project on the theatrical career of Nelson Rodrigues (1912-1980) that will broaden the scope of U.S. scholarship on Latin American theater. The study will scrutinize Nelson Rodrigues's plays, their past rejection and current renown, within a socio-historical context. Utilizing a text-staging approach, a minimum of jargon, the intention is to tell an engaging story that will interest specialists, students, and general readers.
