Research and writing toward a book on changes in how literature has been taught in American college classrooms.
Researching and writing a book about (1) the experience of teaching an old-fashioned, reading-intensive survey course on the history of the novel; (2) an account of the philosophical and social purposes of the novel in particular and the humanities in general; and (3) an account of research into previous decades of syllabi for humanities courses in American academia.
