Black Music and Black Culture in the United States

To explore various aspects of black music and its relations to black culture in the United States. The general study will be conducted on two levels. The first will be an investigation of basic problems of musical communication, involving anthropology, sociology and psychology. The second level would involve in-depth investigation of the technical aspects of music.
