A Critical and Performance Edition of the Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue by J.S. Bach

To produce an edition of Bach's Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue based on all extant manuscripts from 1720 to 1972. This will be the first edition to treat the maximum problems of this work in the double area of scholarship and perfomance and will clarify historical and interpretive understanding of Bach's concepts as treated to 250 years as well as correct prodigious errors accumulated over this period.
