To examine the development of the midwestern Finnish-American radical labor movement. The Finns were among the most organizationally active and sharply defined groups in the U.S. Research on late ethnic groups has been lacking and this study will provide needed insight into how a pre-modern late ethnic group made adjustments to American Culture as it was drawn into the vortext of industrial society.
