FAIN: FF-10328-74

Harry Berger, Jr
Regents of the University of California, Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz, CA 95064-1077)

To explore the origins of the Italian Renaissance in humanism and visual arts and the rediscovery of Reanissance vision in the literature, drama and society of Reformation England, and in 17th century Northern European painting. The primary emphasis will be on close interpretation of individual works of art and literature with secondary emphasis on institutional and socio-political changes important to transition from traditional to modern culture.
