Study of Ethnic and Racial History

This seminar will examine the impact of immigration on American history from 1840-1924, with particular emphasis upon the interaction of ethnic and racial minorities. A sub-theme will treat the effect of American immigration upon the countries from which emigration was heavy. Close attention will be paid to the ethnic experience as an integral component in the study and teaching of American history.
