The program of 3 seminars for members of the medical profession represents an effort to find a format which will bring together men and women of substantial achievement in this profession and first-rate humanists who have a background in medicine, or some scholarly and teaching interests in the important questions facing medical practitioners today. The aim of the program is to bring humanistic knowledge and insights to bear in the professional life of medical practitioners, on the assumption that the quality of leadership in the profession will be improved by broadening the perspective from which the participants view their own profession and
