Lyle M. Nelson (Project Director: July 1975 to present)
To support a fellowship program designed to give journalists an opportunity to stand back from their work to study the historical, social, cultural, and philosophical dimensions of their professional interests. The program continues the 1973-74 program of a regular humanities seminar required of all Fellows, with the balance of their time free to develop a program of independent study. Distinguished scholars in the fields of Religion, Philosophy, American History and American Literature will conduct the seminars.
