Seminar for Public Administrators Recent developments have called into question the capacity of the contemporary political economy to anticipate the future formulate coherent and appropriate policy responses, and combine the need for central direction with decentralized implementation In the last decade a ferment of proposals for structural reform has developed. Seminar will seek historical perspective on the current crisis of the political economy through the study of the pivotal literature spanning from the birth of the contemporary system in the 1930s to its current malaise in the 1970s.
