Study will deal with the Roman Catholic orthodoxy of Karl Rahner's theology of revelation. Since the early 1800s, a number of Catholic theologians have been trying to respond to the challenge of faith issued by modern historical consciousness. Research will show, first, the strong similarities between rejected theologies of the past and Rahner's own, and, second, on the basis of official Roman documents, the particulars of a change in Catholic attitude toward history.
