To study the poetic evolution of Pierre Jean Jouve (b. 1887). Jouve reflects the poetic styles of Symbolism and Surrealism, for him compatible, in the images and structures of his poetry. By studying Jouve's forms and images, research will conclude that Jouve is a concrete example of the change in poetic sensitivity at the beginning of the 20th century, a change sparked by Symbolists and continued by the Surrealists.
