To write an article on Peter Winter’s contributions to a distinctly German style of opera. Peter Winter, a contemporary of, and successor to, Mozart, was a composer of considerable stature in his time, of international repute, whose operas appeared on the major stages of Europe— Munich, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, London, Paris, Milan, Venice and Naples. The article on Winter (1754-1825) would use a humanistic approach.
