To do intensive reading on the philosophical origins of Marx, Durkheim, Weber and Simmel. A comparative study of one philosophical issue, the nature of man, for Weber, Durkheim and Simmel would result from this reading program. With the exception of its comparative approach, the format of this research would be modeled after Fromm's work (Marx's Concept of Man).
