Metaphor and Reality

By means of a historical survey and an original critical article, this study will examine how given cosmologies are analogous explanations of reality, and how these explanations in turn are reflected in the metaphoric language of a time. Metaphor will be viewed as a means of knowledge, and thus as an expression of a shared consciousness, and a close reading, in these terms, will be given to the poetry of Nelly Sachs.
