FAIN: FR-10366-78

To investigate the presuppositions of social action and social structure of various approaches to social theory, such as "social exchange" theory, role theory, and "humanistic" sociology. Thesis will be developed that much contemporary sociological theorizing shares with traditional liberalism an individualist and subjectivist point of view, and show how much contemporary social theory masks aspects of the reality of contemporary social life.
