To determine the basic humanistic traits and ideas as expressed through the arts in the Franco-Flemish area in the Renaissance to determine and thoroughly understand the role and relative importance of each of the art forms within the social and political framework of the Franco-Flemish area; and to prepare transcriptions complete with text setting and commentary of Renaissance sacred and secular polyphonic works appropriate for performance by a university collegium musicum.
