To fund a seminar which will deal with growth of American thought and culture by study of selected topics which have been influential in shaping intellectual and culture development in America from the beginning to the present. The classroom will provide a forum for discussion of basic themes and new viewpoints and for arriving at a richer appreciation of American thought and culture.
