To conduct a seminar on the interaction of myth and culture in medieval narrative literature. The seminar will examine the intellectual, esthetic and historical forces which acted to make narrative literature central to medieval man's perception of the reality of the world. The course will examine the epic, saga, romance, and chronicle.
