Greek Myth and Modern Theories of Interpretation

FAIN: FS-10286-76

Unaffiliated independent scholar
John J. Peradotto (Project Director: January 1976 to present)

This seminar is designed to help classical scholars acquaint them- selves with modern theories of literary analysis, such as those made available by linguistics, anthropology, and structural criticism. The purpose of this investigation is to prepare instructors to convey an appreciation of the problems of meaning and interpretation, and of the relationships between myth and other cultural manifestations.
