Modes of Fictional Plot

This seminar will study a varied selection of novels through close attention to the structure of their plots. Consideration will be given to critical or theoretical models insofar as they are useful in developing tools for of plot, and in answering questions about the role of plot in fiction and the ways in which a plot conveys meaning.
