Literature and Politics in the Seventeenth-Century England

Using texts of historical as well as literary importance, the seminar will consider the various ways in which literature and politics interacted in 17th century England. Seminar will cover the great political crises of the century and demonstrate the often oblique techniques by which writers commented on them.
