Robert N. Wilson (Project Director: January 1977 to present)

To enhance understanding of contemporary literature by bringing the perspectives of sociology and psychology to bear upon the thematic analysis of literary works; to examine certain problems of literary creativity and of the nature of literature as a social institution; to assess the ways in which humanists and social scientists can collaborate for a fuller knowledge of man's behavior as presented in art.
