To study the relationships between the intellectual activities of the "elite" of European society and those of the "masses", in their social, economic, and political contexts. The purpose of the seminar is to give greater exposure to areas of history and culture seldom explored, through other disciplines such as art, music, folklore, and geography, in order to gain a broader perspective of 19th and 20th century European history
