Morris 0. Dickstein
CUNY Research Foundation, Graduate School and University Center (New York, NY 10016-4309)

A seminar exploring the relationship between changes in contemporary society and changes in literary style and content. American writing, from 1950 to the present, will be viewed in terms of the changes in sensibility, culture and social life during that period. The course will use the cultural resources of New York City to explore parallel developments in other creative arts.
