Social and Economic History of the Roman Empire

To study and analyze the quality of life in the Roman Empire in various levels of society and in various milieux in the period from the early first to the middle of the third century. Analysis will be made using physical remains of antiquity, archaeological excavations and finds, papyri, inscriptions, coins, etc. Seminar will attempt to examine in exactly what way the quality of life degenerated in the period under consideration, and how this degeneration contributed to the collapse of ancient civilization in the middle of the third century.
