FAIN: FT-10698-70

Owen H. Jander
Wellesley College (Wellesley, MA 02481-8203)

Study of composers who enjoyed the patronage of Christina, the expatriated Queen of Sweden. In the 1670s Christina drew to her "court" in Rome almost all the chief composers in this genre. Fellow to do a thorough study of two lesser-known composers--Pier Simone Agostini and Carlo Abrogio Lonati (know as "the Queen's Hunchback). Fellow hopes to bring into print some of their best music and to produce an article about the cantata in the "Christina Circle."
