Fellow to spend two months (June, July, 1970) studying the collection of Chinese paintings in the national Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan in order to revise his dissertation for possible publication. Access to the collection offered to fellow in conjunction with an invitation to address the International Symposium on Chinese Painting to be held in June, 1970, at the Museum. Fellow to concentrate on landscape and figure paintings of the Northern Sung period (12th century AD), 14th century AD paintings, and a body of material by the 17th century master, Yun Shou-p'ing. These areas important for revision of fellow's dissertation for possible publication.
