Study of the influence of beliefs, intentions, and motives on intentional action. ABSTRACT: Clarification of the logical relations that beliefs, intentions and motives bear to intentional action. Study focuses on explanations of intentional actions. Argues that man's intentions are not causes but aims. Opposes view that action is merely behavior and view that education and punishment are forms of behavior conditioning.
