Planning a Course or Courses in Non-Western Art

ABSTRACT: Fellow to plan a course or courses in non-Western art for the general program in humanities at Reed College. Critical exposure to non-Western arts different from those with which students are familiar. Discussion of critical methodologies appropriate to the complexity of cultural contrasts will encourage the student to see his own western traditions from a new framework of values. Fellow's previous work has been in 16th and 17th century English art.
