To indicate the origins, meanings and ramifications of the attitude of psychologist which inists that psychology is committed primarily to complying with scientific method and only secondarily to understanding human behavior and experience. The study will suggest that a historical attitude grounded in a philosophy of man is more appropriate for psychology conceived as a human rather than natural science.
