FAIN: FT-11504-73

Frederic B. Burnham
Wayne State University (Detroit, MI 48201-1347)

To study a group of young academics at Oxford and Cambridge during the Civil Way period in England (ca. 1640-1660) who defended the universities against anti-rationalism and mysticism, fought for the preservation of academic freedom and political neutrality. The historical case is pertinent in light of contemporary situation on college campus.
