To investigate the connection that might exist between theories of film craft and theories of criticism. A comparison of this investigation with similar kinds of connections between strategies of fiction writing and principles of literary criticism may yeild not only significant parallels between cinematic art and literary art, but may serve to advance the discovery of principles of cinematic criticsim.
