To locate, translate, and interpret an unpublished sanskrit manuscript that supposedly lies in the library of the Asiatic Society of Benpal. The manuscript, the Brahmavaivarta Purana, may will hold the keys to several difficult scholarly problems relating to the historical and religious development of medieval India. To obtain a deeper acquaintance with the Hindu religious tranditions.
