To compare radicals of the 1770s and 1970s from a rhetorical perspective: In what ways are radicals of the 1770s and 1970s different and similar? Each period of radical thought studied is treated as a distinct rhetorical genre and is ultimately compared to identify similarities and differences. This will fill a gap in current assessment of political communication insofar as both historical and contemporary periods are directly examined.
