FAIN: FT-12044-74

To examine the poetry and novels of several regional writers in an attempt to analyze the effects of industrialization on the character of the Southern Appalachian people. A literary analysis focusing on the characterizations as constructed by those regional writers who themselves have been a part of the culture about which they write will provide an invaluable and necessary perspective to a study of the Southern Appalachian people.
