To investigate throughly and to write a book on the theatre of Latin America from approximately 1950 to the present. During this period, the Latin American theatre comes of age, expanding its vision to include the universal concerns of the social and human condition. Although certain studies of a national scope have been published, no comprehensive treatment of the theatre of this homgeneous area yet exists.
