To do research in order to edit the Revolutionary War Diary of Jeremiah Greenman using the Greenman Diary, a hitherto unknown eyewitness account of the Revolution. It covers almost the entire period of the war and is valuable not only as a corroborative document in military history, but also because it is the literary record of a common American who literally grew up with his country. To finish the research for a major article on the defense of the Delaware River Forts, October-November, 1777. Two months is not long enough to do the entire research. Work on the Diary will consist of synthesizing a literary form and the history of which it speaks. Discovery of this Diary is especially -welcome in view of the upcoming Bicentennial.
