paper accepted for IX International Congress, of Early Christian Archeology at Rome, 1975 to trace the iconography of the V century murals with narrative depictions for Genesis that once decorated a nave wall of S. Paolo, F.L.M., Rome. The Genesis theme will be traced from one era to the next, offering insight into the survival of some conceptions, the adoption of others, the inventions that occur; the renascent re-introductions of the cycle that appear; and in the end, a transformation that abruptly comes about in a XV century fresco cycle attributed to Uccello. Study will be conducted in Rome, Italy, Archives and libraries of S. Paolo, F.L.M., Vatican; Hertziana; Rome University's collection on Art and Archeology at Piazza Venezia; and German, French, and American Academies.
