Hellenistic Coarseware from Tel Anafa

FAIN: FT-12478-75

To catalogue, study, and publish the Hellenistic coarse, plain and semi-fine pottery from 5 years of excavation at Tel Anafa, Israel. Tel Anafa produced a larger and more closely datable body of Hellenistic material than any previously excavated site in Palestine, and thus the material is of crucial importance in the dating of other sites in Palestine. The major product of the study will be the establishment of statistical, typological, and chronological criteria for the identification of this pottery, a useful tool for dating other finds and establishing Hellenistic trade patterns.
