To complete a manuscript on the political and military history of the Waffen SS Death's Head Division. The Death's Head Division first fought in northern France in 1940, and then for the remainder of the war was engaged in Russia where it earned the reputation as one of the most savage, fanatical, and reliable units in German armed forces. The Death's Head Division came to reflect in microcosm the collective range of destructive forces that were the essence of National Socialism.
